Small Machine

I will be designing and creating a website for Small machines

Purpose

The purpose of small machines is to sell hydraulic powered constructions for children. It is used to help develop skills of diggers, lifts and hoists along with a range of accessories. The purpose for me is to create a stylish but formal website, so that they can promote their products. I will need to include professional and high quality images, links to different media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. I will feature a lot of different with a lot of information and content.


Currently the website is  a Wix.com template which has too much white space and very little content. The website you design will need to include:

a). BBC News- Information

A).The purpose of BBC News is to inform their audience about the Global distribution happening in today’s life. Users can go online and read, as well as watch video clips, about what's happened in today’s News. The can look at hard hitting news as well as soft hitting news.

B).The visitors needs for BBC New is to be aware and informed about international and local news, which should include hard hitting news. For example natural disasters, murders, war, terrorists and political debates. It also should include soft hitting new. The language used needs to be formal, so that it is suitable for its target audience.

C).How the audience gets the information flow is usually by clicking on tabs provided in the website. The House style on BBC News usually has the main story on their first page, as this is stereo typically the most important. Also navigation bars will help to direct users to the information they want to receive.

D). The features included on the BBC News website are a search bar, which allows you to insert text base. It also includes video clips from the News that has been aired on the TV channel, allowing their audience to gain more information about the News. A programmatic feature BBC News use is the Top 10 news stories that are most popular/viewed.

 
B). Dave- Advertising

A) The Purpose of Dave is to allow their audience to catch up on programmes and series they may have missed on TV. It shows American and British TV series, which creates a wider audience.

B) The visitors needs for Dave is to show TV series or films that are aired on that channel to viewers who have missed it. The point of the website is to increase traffic, having a website and a channel is creating more platforms for your audience. It allows people who cannot watch Dave on TV, watch it on a device with internet.

C) The information flow is usually on the home page as well as tabs included in their websites. The navigation bar on Dave sends you to the homepage allowing you to get the newly updates of information. As well as the tabs which allow you to go different areas of their websites, can help the audience get information they are actually searching for.

D) Features that are included in Dave are the search bar. This helps viewers search what they are wanting of their websites, for example a programme they have missed. Another feature Dave includes on their website is videos, which are the programmes aired on their TV channel. Dave also has the feature “Top 10” which is what most viewer’s watches online, making those programmes the most popular.


Top Shop (E-commerce)

A) The purpose of Top shop is so there customers can purchase there branded items on line. It is an online shopping website (E-commerce), which sells high street fashion and branded names.

B) The visitors needs for Top shop is to find online goods the customers want, so that they can purchase it. Visitors can purchase a wider variety of stock on the website, as the shop may not stock certain goods are have the correct sizes left, this is why the website is more efficient if you know what your wanting.

C) Topshop must have an information flow relevant to what products they sell on their website. The house style on their website includes tabs that give out information for the customer’s needs. For example if I hover my mouse around the clothes, I then receive further information about the clothes I can look for.

D) The features include on Topshop are search bar, sign in, my bag, blogs and videos. The search bar makes it fast and easier for the customer to look for what they want. Sign in is a feature included on Topshop where you can put details in such as bank information, as well as sign up for their latest news letters and special offers. My bag is where you can see what items you are about to purchase and bag, with information about what size and colour you have chosen, as well as the total cost. Videos upload onto their websites are usually information about their latest fashion shows, for their customers to follow and be entertained about.





D). YouTube- Downloads

A)    YouTube is a great way for business users to promote their brands. YouTube enables you to watch videos uploaded by others, as well as playback. The purpose of YouTube is to watch and download other peoples stuff, for example people can download BeyoncĂ©’s music from her YouTube account.

B)     Visitor’s needs on YouTube are to listen and download videos/music. YouTube allows their audience to subscribe to YouTube channels so that they can have a closer connection with what videos they share. As well visitors can upload their own videos for business purposes are for personal entertainment.

C)    Information flow on YouTube is in the description box underneath the video that is being played. It gives out information such as date released and a general idea of what the video is about, or if it’s a music information and personal/business information.

D)    Features included on YouTube are search bar; sign in, videos and history. Searching enables you to find what you are looking for faster. Signing in so that you can have your own channel, enabling you to upload videos, subscribe to other channels and to dislike and like other videos. Videos of all sorts of genres and styles can be uploaded onto YouTube. However if the video is inappropriate it can be banned.





E). Instagram- Social Media

A)     Instagram is a social networking site, which allows users to share pictures and videos online. It also allows you to share these stuff on other social networking platforms such as Facebook, Twitter etc.. The purpose of Instagram is to make connections with people around the world, letting others inspire you.

B)    The visitors need for Instagram is to share images/videos via social media. It allows their audience to be inspired with other people’s pages, as well as to learn and develop never understandings of photography. Visitors can also have the ability to become bloggers on Instagram, giving them important and handy skills.

C)    Information flow on Instagram is available to you when you first set up your own account, helping you to understand the app. Also the home buttons on the bottom of the screen, which sends you to a page where you can see images people you follow have uploaded. Another tab is the hash tag and discover tab where you can see millions more pictures people have uploaded who you don’t even follow

D)    Features included on Instagram are search bar/discover, hash tag, pictures and videos and like and comment. Discover bar enables you to find users who you don’t follow or to search for users you do, to see their profile. Hash tag gives you the ability to make your picture available to a wider audience, if they search the word you hash tagged, rather than just your followers. As Instagram is a social media site where you share videos and pictures, this is the way to connect with other users.
